To celebrate World Bee Day, today was the official launch for the Pollinator Trail in Fota House, Gardens and Arboretum. Members of Irish Bee Conservation Project braved the Irish weather to welcome the Minister for the Office of Public Works and Flood Relief, Patrick O’Donovan and showed him around the beautiful grounds of Fota House.

The Pollinator Trail is the result of a lot of work by the Irish Bee Conservation Project, Fota House and the Office of Public Works. We are delighted that it was ready to launch on World Bee Day and that it will be open to the public from Saturday 22nd May.

Fota has a wide range of pollinator friendly plants.

After months of lockdown we’re excited to be able to add a family friendly activity to Leeside. If there’s one thing we need it’s an excuse to get exploring the wonders that Cork has to offer. And, if it doubles as an fun, educational outing so much the better!

Come meet the team on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of May from 12-4 pm for information and guidance on the trail.

A happy Minister O’Donovan enjoying the Pollinator Trail
