A fun afternoon of games and activities for all of the family to learn about solitary Bees and creating bee habitats to ensure their survival.
12.30 – 3.30pm at the Victorian Working Garden(Walled Garden) of Fota House.
Planned Programme of events:
12.30-1.10pm: Informative talk on Solitary Bees (Roger Clough )
1.10-1.30pm: Bee Games for kids (& adult kids if they so choose!) (Elaine Conway & Sammy Ball)
1.30-2pm: Refreshment Break
2- 2.15: Informative talk on Biodiversity (Sammy Ball)
2.15-3.30pm: “The Bee’s Knees” …& other Body Parts! for any science buffs in the Greenhouse (Sammy Ball, Elaine Conway)/How to create a “Bug Hotel” (Roger Clough, Pat Deasy)
Where is the workshop on?
The workshop will be held in the Victorian Working Garden (Walled Garden) in Fota House, Arboretum and Gardens.
How long will it run?
The workshop will run from 12.30pm on Saturday the 24th of July until 3.30pm.
What should we bring?
Just bring some water and (hopefully) sunscreen! You're welcome to bring a picnic or there will be food available from the Blackstone Cafe.
